Alexi mines into some rock and is frustrated that it is more useless material. She then mellowed out again as she knew that mining was worth it once you got better at it and once she was good enough to mine gems she would be able to make some real money. She's hoping to get more iron more than anything else. She's heard that there is coal in here but she hasn't seen any yet. She wondered if the coal would be worth mining at all or if she should move to a different area if she gets into coal.

Alexi mines into more rock and continues mining on. She is very focused right now and is determined to continue on until she can get a gem or two to bring back with her. How well that went was still to be determined. She continues through the rock and is making pretty decent progress if not unrewarded progress. She knew though that in time it would pay off. She continued on ignoring her surroundings focusing solely on the mining. It had been a long while since she had last put this much effort into anything.

Alexi continues mining through the rock and keeps on finding nothing but rock. She is managing not to get frustrated yet though. She decides to take a short break once she gets that rock cleared out. She sits down and begins using her levitate ability to play with a small rock. She moves it around and makes it do a couple of loops before setting it back on the ground and getting up and getting back to mining. She continues where she had been mining before hoping to make more progress now.

Alexi gets into a huge vein of coal and decides to mine around it. It wouldn't be worth the time and effort. As she moves elsewhere she sees a dwarf come who asks to be able to mine it. She approves of this and then goes back to mining. Hoping to still find iron she continues mining. She is amazed by how quickly the dwarf mines out the coal. He must have gotten twenty pounds out of the mine in the time it took her to get started into the rock where she was mining right now.

Alexi smiles as she gets into some more iron. She begins extracting it from the rock and is probably going to give this iron to the dwarves as well. She knows that it is a slow way to build favor but it was better than her having to carry it out of the mines and to the city herself to get a mere 25 gold a pound. She continues on wondering if she should practice her magic even more the next time she took a break. She figured that she probably should and decided to make it a plan.

Alexi finishes gathering the two pounds of iron and sets it to the side in the pile where she said the dwarves could take it as a donation or whatever. It doesn't take long before one of the dwarves comes over and takes the iron. Alexi is continuing mining, she still hopes to find iron as she hopes that she can use that to build her skill to the point where she will be able to mine some gems successfully. That is her ultimate goal as she hopes to be able to get into some enchanting since she has such a large supply of magic.

Alexi continues mining and gets into some rock again. By this point she is not very surprised or disappointed getting into the rock. Apparently at this mine it was a common occurance. At least that is how it seemed though she couldn't be completely certain as she didn't have a ton of experience mining here yet. She gets the feeling that she will have had a ton of experience by the time she is able to successfully extract a gem out of the mine and have it be good enough to sell to whoever will be willing to buy it.

Alexi continues on and gets into a little bit of iron though there isn't as much here as she had previously found.  She figures there is about a pound there and she sets it in the pile where it is quickly gathered by a dwarf who thanks her.  She then goes back to mining.  She wondered if there was anything of true value further inside the mine.  As she continues mining she is starting to feel worn out again and figures it wont be long before she has to take another quick rest where she would likely practice her latent magic abilities again.

As Alexi continues on she is getting through more rock. She decides that this would be as good a time as any to continue her magic practice. She sits back down and trains her magic by levitating a rock again. She does minor tricks with it before again setting it down. It took a lot of effort to control it enough to do those tricks. She picks the pickaxe back up again and then goes back to mining the rock. She continues on and is hopeful that she will find more iron again soon. She is also starting to question how often they are finding gems in the mine.

(Gem was a 19 so that is an onyx but you are FAR from the level required to be able to mine it so it will be a failed attempt)

As Alexi mines through even more rock she sees a black glint. She gets really excited as she realizes that it is an onyx gem and there is a big market for those gems. She swings her pickaxe at it and the gem shatters to a black dust. She closes her eyes and shakes her head. She expected that would happen but if she could have successfully mined that she would have made a ton of money. She continues mining hoping to put that behind her though it will be difficult.

Alexi continues mining and comes to some gold. She tries to mine that but digs it up too much as well. She isn't surprised. Then again gold wasn't really worth as much raw as people made it out to be either, so she wasn't all that disappointed about it. She continues mining through it like a trooper though as she doesn't let the disappointment of failure dissuade her from striving to succeed in her goal. The dwarves are moving around and going about their business with amazing efficiency that would make any human jealous.

As Alexi continues mining she gets into some more rock and mines that out. She is noticing that she has learned some minor techniques today that have made this a little bit faster work. As she continues on she is getting a sense of accomplishment even though she has nothing physical to show for it at this point in time as she has given all of her iron to the dwarves in exchange for 'Favor', whatever that means. As she continues through the rock she feels it won't be long before she gets more iron. She's probably wrong though.
