Koroseta's mining through the rock and it still doesn't look like there is much ore there. Then she notices that there is a blue shimmer. She mines away around it to avoid breaking it. She manages to get it out. It is an uncut Sapphire. Because of the rock around it it weighs 5 pounds or so. She puts it in the bag with the iron ore. This make it so she is carrying 8 pounds of mined material between the iron and gem.

Koroseta mines into some natural silver again. She tries to gather the silver but again destroys it. It was really frustrating but with the sapphire that she had successfully gathered she had shown to herself that she was at the very least making progress. It was tempting to go back to the town and sell the sapphire, but with so much extra weight she could carry she decided not to go just yet.

Koroseta had mined into coal yet again and yet again gave it all to the next miner that happened to pass by. The dwarves seemed to be getting used to her being here by now. She was still disappointed at how little iron she had gotten. Nonetheless all of the gems she was running into made it so it could be worth while if she was actually able to many any without smashing them again which had looked doubtful for a long time.

((I'll start giving the roll numbers so people know what corresponds to what on the roll. In this case it was a 6 which is a Sapphire which as I said before you can mine.))

Koroseta mines through more rock and more rock and more rock. She had about had it with all of this. She then sees another glimmer of blue. It looked like another sapphire. Again she mines around it and succeeds in mining it. She puts the 5 pound chunk of rock containing the sapphire in the backpack and then folds up her pickaxe. She might as well head back to the city to sell the supplies. She walks out of the mine and waves goodbye to the guard.

Koroseta flashes her writ to the guard at the entrance of the mine and then she and her mercenary go back to just about the same are Koroseta had been mining before. She pulls out her folding pickaxe and unfolds it. She hopes for better luck finding iron this time as she now has a big pack-mule with her. She is thinking that maybe she should keep the coal this time and sell it in town. Granted it doesn't sell for much, but it would be more valuable to her doing that than just giving it away. She starts to mine as the mercenary leans against a rock.

The first thing she does it mine into iron ore and two pounds of it. So far this was over half of what she had had her entire last trip so it was exciting to her. Maybe there would be more iron here she thought. She stores the iron ore in her backpack and then continues mining. She looks back at her mercenary for a bit and by the looks of it she figures that he will be asleep in a couple of minutes or so which was no big deal.

Koroseta immediately finds another pound of iron ore. This was super exciting. She already had as much iron ore this time around as she did last time. She puts that pound of iron ore with the other two pounds. She then continues on mining. She looks back at her hired mercenary again and he was fighting off sleeping. She didn't care if he fell asleep or not, so long as he was will to carry some coal when or if she found any as she was mining.

As Koroseta continues to mine she realizes that she had gotten back into the typical rock that she had grown accustomed to. It wasn't really dispiriting this time though as she had just found 3 pounds of iron ore. She thinks back to having seen a dwarf with gold ore earlier. She wondered if that was common here or very rare. As she looks back at her mercenary again she notices that he now appears to be asleep, not very heavily asleep but asleep nonetheless.

Koroseta gets back into another pound or so of iron ore. That now brought her total up to four pounds of iron ore which was more iron than she had gotten the entire time she was here the last time. This was an amount that she could actually do something with. She then puts it with the other three pounds and then continues mining. By now she could hear her hired mercenary snoring in the background and could also hear an occasional dwarf laugh about it.

Koroseta mines into yet another pound of iron ore making her total of iron ore for this trip 5 pounds. She puts it with the rest. Apparently she had chosen a much better starting point than last time though she did note that she had not found any gems yet which seemed odd compared to last time. As she gets back to mining she sees that there are some dwarves looking over the mercenary. When they see she is watching they go back to their business. She wondered if they had been debating robbing him of his gold while he slept.

Koroseta digs through to some silver and tries to mine it. She is more careful about it than the last time she had been in the mine and ran into silver but unfortunately the results were the same. She destroyed it trying to harvest it. She then goes back to mining. She doesn't need to look back at the mercenary to see if he is sleeping or not as she can still hear him snoring. She takes a short break from mining to hear if it sounds like the dwarves are around him again but it doesn't sound like it so she goes back to mining.

Koroseta continues mining hoping to find a gem or some iron ore however she doesn't. She finds more rock is what she found, more and more rock. It is still not all that disheartening as she had found as much as she had already in iron ore. She continues mining and in the background she can hear the mercenary griping at a dwarf for having had tried pickpocketing him. She doesn't know what he had expected. Dwarves were typically very greedy.
