Mendefera Mines: Deeper In

Just outside of Mendefera this is one of their main sources of iron. In order to go deeper in you need to garner 10,000 favor with the dwarves through donating materials.  In order to enter you must post that you have came here through the Mendefera Mines in the Mendefera Mines topic.  Every mining post roll the #1 and #2 dice once each.

Please keep mining levels in consideration as you need the proper level to mine the material even if you do find it. Also, rock gives no experience for mining.

If you land a gem roll wait for an NPC to tell you what you are mining.

Alexi enters deeper into the mine and is met by a couple of guard dwarves. She shows them the writ and they let her through. She sets up to mine a little ways in. She sets down the bottoms backpack and then takes out her folding pickaxe. She readies it and then gets to mining again. The little trip over worked as a break for her and she was feeling a little bit refreshed again. As she digs through the rock she notices that there is a higher mica content here.

Alexi mines through the sparkiling dirt and rock and comes to a little bit of iron right off. She wasn't sure exactly how much better this area was but right off it looked pretty good. She hoped that the amount of good material would continue as she mined out the iron. There is about a pound of the iron and she puts it in her bottoms backpack and then goes right back to mining. She wondered if she should have left where she had been as she had come to back to back diamonds.

As Alexi continued mining after having come to the iron that she had just mined she comes to some gold. She smiles, this looked like it could be a smorgish board of material here and if that was the case she understood why the dwarves didn't let many people in this far. As she mined out what ended up being 1 pound of gold she put the gold in the bottoms backpack which now had 2 pounds of ore in it. 1 pound iron and 1 pound gold. She then goes right back to mining hoping to get more good material.

Alexi continues mining and is surprised to find a small vein of coal. Much smaller than any veins she had found back in the other section of the mines. She mines it out and produces about 2 pounds of coal that she puts into the bottoms backpack. She takes a short break and is surprised by how much material seemed to be in this section of the mine. She is happy that she came here to this point. Her only concern is if she can trust no one to take the material that she left back with Tokara.

Alexi continues mining and instead of finding coal, iron or gold she finds her old friend again. Rock. She mines through the rock and notices how it sparkles from mica and cloudy quartz. It is really pretty. While mining she notices how there are more dwarves mining here than in the entrance to the mines. A couple of times she has to stop and show a dwarf her writ. They are all polite to her after she shows it to them though. It would appear that they view her as a money gaining asset after she shows the writ.

Alexi continues mining through the rock and is now into some iron. She mines the iron out and it comes to about a pound which she puts in her bottoms backpack. She turns back to where she had been mining. She then saw another glint of green and called over a dwarf who mined it out for her. She then resumed mining and had found this area much more enjoyable than the last area. As she continues mining she is starting to wear out a little and she is thinking about taking a longer break.

Alexi continues mining through the rock and comes to what she had come to know as a smaller vein of coal which was a pretty sizable amount of coal truth be known. She mined out all of the coal and there was about 10 pounds which she put into her bottoms backpack. She could maybe carry another ten pounds worth of material before she would have to bring it back to Tokara. She goes back to mining again and has noticed how every one of the dwarves must be used to her now as no one has asked to see her writ for a while.

As Alexi continues mining she sees another green glint in the stone, she again calls over a dwarf and a dwarf comes over and mines it. He thanks her and then leaves. Alexi then goes back to mining and comes into some iron ore that she mines out and puts in her backpack. She figures there was two pounds that she had just put into her bottoms backpack bringing the total up to around 17 pounds of the twenty five that she felt comfortable carrying when she removed the 5 for the pickaxe.

Alexi continues mining and comes to a glint of blue. She mines it out and has found a 5 pound block of rock with a sapphire in the middle of it. She puts it in her bag and then continues mining to find another pound of iron. She decides that she should go back to where Tokara is and empty the contents of her bag there. As she walks back out she can't help but think how lucky she has been so far today. She found all of this material and she found a potential group that she could travel with.

Alexi returns to the deeper section of the mine and this time she is not stopped for them to see her writ as the same guards are there and they remember her. She then goes back to where she had been mining before and she begins mining again. This area of the mine was nicer for her as it was still relatively unfamiliar to her then the last are had been. On top of that she had found quite a few gems here and not run into very much rock. It seemed like a really nice place to mine.
