Mendefera City Mines

As Andras continues with his mining he comes across some iron. He mines it out a little roughly and frowns. Even though it's a good amount of iron for where he is, he does not know that so he had expected more. After all, 2 pounds of iron is not about to cover what he needs to make what he intends to make for a weapon for himself. He was a big man and he wanted a weapon that fit that.

As Andras continues mining he gets through a bunch of rock and rock and more rock. He's hacking away at it and large chucks of rock are getting thrown from where it is that he is mining. He continues mining aggressively in the hopes that he will eventually get through all of this rock and back to some usable ore, preferably iron ore as it was what he wanted to make his weapon out of because of iron's weight.

As Andras continues mining he continues coming through what is to him a depressing and disappointing amount of rock. He does however set aside a large rock from his mining though, as if it is soemthing of interest to him before he resumes looking for more valuable material. Of course, the way that he was going he may have been hacking through some smaller deposits of usable material as he was doing it a little roughly and with no finesse.

So far all that is happening as Andras mines is that the more rock that he is mining through with his folding pickaxe, the more rock without ore or gems in it he comes to. It probably was why none of the dwarves were mining this close to the entrance of the mine and was also probably related to his inexperience as a miner more so than just plain bad luck. He grunts as he continues mining along fruitlessly.

The fruitless mining continues for Andras as he is continuing mining out oreless rock and dirt. His frustration shows as he starts mining even more violently. After a short time of this a dwarf walks by an looks at him with a start before saying, Good gods man, ease up. Yes strength is important in mining but so is a bit of finesse. Andras just grunts in response as the dwarf had walked off right after having said that. Andras does ease up a little though afterwards.

Continuing on he is still coming through more oreless rock and dirt but he still keeps his emotions in check as this was for the ore for his weapon. To his clan your weapon was an extention of yourself and you put your blood and sweat as well as your heart into it. He keeps this in mind as he continues mining though his patience will not last forever and at the rate that this was going he'd probably end up taking a break from frustration.

As Andras continues through the ore he sighs as he comes to some silver that he still can't mine out properly yet. He calls a dwarf back over again and they mine it for him in the deal as before. Andras then resumes with the mining again in the hopes of getting to something that he can actually mine out successfully rather than this fancy person ore that he was starting to loath to some degree.

As Andras continues on he goes right back to what he had been doing before, mining through oreless rock. It was mind-numbing work but he was starting to feel it in his muscles a little which he actually enjoyed as it was starting to feel like a bit of a light workout for him. As he mines he looks over at his right arm for a second and flexes it as he holds the pickaxe over his head. He then gets a goofy grin and then goes back to mining regularly again.

As Andras continues through the mind numbing mining through oreless material he suddenly snaps out of his droning as he sees a bit of iron which he gladly mines out until he only sees that there is only about a pound there. Ugh, there's not enough enough here for a pommel at the end of my weapon. This is horrible. He groans before returning to his mining in the hopes of coming into more iron. It wouldn't be bad getting little amounts of ore if it was a steady stream of it.

As he mines along he isn't fortunate enough to run into any more good material right off and he is right back into dirt and rock and some silt. It's starting to look a bit dangerous continuing on. He asks a dwarfs opinion and the Dwarf agrees and helps Andras set up in a new spot before going and blocking off where Andras had been mining. With that settled Andras starts mining again, tempering his swings a little so they aren't as hard.

Continuing along mining in the new spot he comes into a lot of solid rock which is hard to mine through but a lot more secure than the last place that he had been mining. He hadn't expected to run into anything right off here anyways as it would have probably been obvious to the dwarves if there was iron shallow there. This is getting hard on him to mine without much luck for such a long period of time, though if he were a better miner the gold and silver would have been nice at least to sell to people.

As Andras continues along he gets into some black rock which he recognizes as coal. He mines it out and is surprised to find a large amount of coal, about 20 pounds total. It would be useful he figured, if nothing else, to sell for a little money. He sets it with his iron and his large probably 20 pound rock. He then continues mining through the rock behind where all of the coal had been in hopes of finding some more useful material.

As Andras continues through the rock and dirt he grins and then chuckles as he comes into more iron ore. As he mines the iron ore out he notices that there is about another two pounds of iron ore there. He places it with the other ore and determines a total of five pounds of iron ore along with the coal. This was looking better as he continued along mining as he had an amount of iron now that he could at least do something with.
