(It's a Unique Special Gem, basically choose an excessively rare one and mine it out. You can mine it but you get no level for it. It is great for getting it enchanted but it is worth 64k for you to sell it.)

As Andras continues mining through more rock he actually notices after having mined something out that one of the loose rocks has a wicked sparkle section that is a smooth black with bright colors sparkling in it as the light hits it. It seems to be some kind of brilliant black opal. He sets it aside and decides he'll take it to some fancy person and see if they'll buy it. As of right now he isn't sure who he should take it to. Regardless he resumes mining.

As he continues mining he isn't surprised to continue mining oreless rock. He was getting used to it by now. He knew that there had to be someplace around here where you got more material or the dwarves wouldn't stay here and would sell it to someone else for a fast gold coin. He wonders if they ever let any outsiders in on better mining areas but he figures that they don't because of how greedy some of them tend to be.

As he continues he gets to some more gold and again calls the dwarf over to mine it out for him. The dwarf comes and then does so happily. After the dwarf is finished and leaves again Andras resumes his mining with a grunt. He was wishing that all of the material he came to, including the gems, were just iron so he could just go and make his weapon already. What he had in mind to make, to him, was a thing of beauty.

Still as he mines he gets back to more and more oreless rock. He continues mining this out crudely and then hesitates for a second. He takes a short break where he stretches and sets down the pick before going right back to mining through more and more oreless rock. While it was slow he figured eventually he would get more. If he realized the value of the black opal like gem he would likely be more content with his mining expedition so far.

As Andras continues mining he comes to what he perceives to be the largest deposit of iron ore that he has come to yet. He excitedly mines it out and figures that there was only three pounds there. It doesn't sound or seem like much but compared to what he had gotten so far it was a lot. He sets it with the other five pounds of iron ore and then he goes right back to mining again in hopes of there being a higher concentration of iron ore now.

Andras continues mining and instead of coming into a pocket of more iron ore as he had hoped he may, he came into another pocket of that stuff you tend to find when you are mining, earth. He doesn't get impatient though, rather he keeps his head down and keeps on mining. He hopes to go back with at least ten pounds of iron but at the rate he was going with other materials he might have to go back before then.

Alexi wakes up from her nap and goes back by Andras. She notices he's still mining and she's starting to get bored of him. She decides to start back towards Mendefera. She walks back towards the entrance of the mine and has a short conversation with the dwarf there about how violently Andras was mining before exiting the mine and heading back towards the city with the hope that she might be able to find Falabella and group back up with her again.

As Andras continues along he continues mining into oreless earth and dirt. He makes note of the fragile looking woman that passes by for a brief second before returning to mining out the rock that was in front of him. He was starting to build a real respect for the Dwarver miners and how much work it really was to get enough iron for a greatsword or a battle axe. He figures he doesn't want to mine much longer as he is feeling a familiar thirst again.

As Andras continues with his mining he comes to a little bit of iron again that he mines out and sets with the eight pounds of iron that he had already accumulated. He figures the new iron is maybe around a pound which would put his new total of iron at around nine pounds of iron which was getting him a little bit closer to his minimum quota. After doing that he goes back to mining as he had been before.

Andras continues mining until he comes to another couple of pounds of iron ore which he mines out and puts with his previous nine pounds giving him 11 pounds of iron ore. He then sees a diamond and calls a dwarf over to mine it. The dwarf gets quite excited and then greedily smirks as he mines it out and then he goes on his way. Andras then resumes mining as he had been doing before, content with his iron total but still hoping that he could get more.
