The Start of .... Something (Travel)

Avril watches the bandits come towards Tokara and cringes at the result. Even though they may have been evil they were still humans like she was. She hadn't taken much offense from their insults because it was what she was used to hearing. She noted how insulted Falabella had been but she wasn't too surprised at her reaction. It was like Falabella to respond that way. She then takes Sidney's lead and loots the next bandit wondering if she will find anything of interest.

Avril finds a coin pouch with 350 gold inside of it when she checks the bandit.

Falabella's disappointment at not even being able to hurt a single one was obvious. She controlled her fall and landed near one of the dead bandits, or what was left of one. "Couldn't you have left me One?" She was hanging her head down and sulking as she put away her Damaging Needles and started to pick the deadman's pockets.

*Why do I still feel pride in how strong he is? He just took my fun away... I wanted them to suffer a little before begging to let die... and he went and did it so fast... they probably didn't even feel it... but he did look so cool doing it! Damn it!*

Falabella finds a pouch containing 500 gold upon inspection of the corpse.

Tokara saw every one start looting the bandits. “not even dead 5 minutes and every ones looting them. nice.” Tokara put his sword back on his back and slowly pawed though the last bandit, he go some blood on his hands and wiped it on the pice of his pants along his coin pouch staining it with blood. “well atleast we know one thing that wasn’t just a fluke last time.” He was talking about the power of his sword. Rather quite remarkable. Tokara kepted pawing around to see if this bandit had any thing.

Search as Tokara may, this bandit had absolutely nothing of value on him. His clothing was crappy quality and the sword was broken and so crappy this it would actually weaken anything it was smelted into. Truly misfortunate for Tokara unless he like groping dead men.

Sidney chuckles at what Tokara finds as he pockets his health capsule. He then decides to continue on before the bodies defrost enough to attract some kind of monster. It was fortunate that they had Tokara with them. If it wasn't for him surely someone would have been at least hit once and then they would have had to stop in the town before continuing on to the fortress. He looks back to make sure that he is not leaving everyone too far behind.

((Rolled a 1 which is unique/pet encounter which leads to a 20 side die roll which was a 17. As the 1 has been changed since falabella had encountered it to make it rarer 1-20 are all relatively decent if you have things happen right through your characters actions. Also gender flip was tails corresponding to female.

Also, due to the nature of the event Sidney gets 1 reaction post and then it will return to Avril Falabella Tokara Sidney as post order))

Suddenly there is rustling in the shrubbery in front of Sidney. A bloodcurdling screeching howl can be heard that would send a shiver up anyones spine. Then an odd creature with metallic plating on its back jumps out and charges Sidney.

With it's mace-like tail it is obvious to anyone who has traveled and fought a lot that this is what many call a 'Horse Killer'. Judnging how the tail is more blunt than spiked it is a female. As it approaches Sidney it slows down and jumps up on Sidney like a dog and makes a weird noise before getting back down. It sniffs the air and then runs to the corpses and starts eating one of them. It looks as though at the shoulders it is about 18" tall and it probably weighs 110 pounds or so.

As the screeching howl starts Sidney flinches, as someone who had travelled a lot it was one he recognized. Suddenly it bursts out of the bushes and before Sidney can draw a weapon is on him. Sidney cringes waiting for the bite or a swing of its tail. Then it stops and jumps up on his leg causing Sidney to have to brace himself because of the weight of it.

It then makes a noise and runs over to one of the corpses and starts eating. Sidney motions for them all to keep going on. "I'm not too worried about that one, but I'm afraid that its mother might be somewhere around here and those things are sneaky." It was really odd that the baby had come out when Sidney and the rest were there.

Avril had just picked up her loot when she heard the screech that almost made her drop her gear. She gasps as something charges out of the bushes that she had never seen before and charges Sidney. She sees it jump up on him and then charge towards her as she is near the corpses. It then starts eating one of the dead bandits. She quickly walks towards the way Sidney is going to get away from the creature. When she hears Sidney say about a mother creature she moves faster.

When Falabella had heard the noises coming from the forest, the first thought that came to her head was *What now?!* It seemed that they couldn't catch a break since waking up this morning. If the day continued like it had, it was going to be a long day.

But it turned out to be kinda cute in a way. It was more to her size than a normal horse or centaurs that she grew up riding. If that thing was tamable it might be fun to ride it... but then it started eating the dead bodies of the bandits... and it didn't change her mind at all. She thought it was even cooler, it would be fairly easy to feed if she just killed a bandit or two.

Hearing Sidney talk about a mother got her moving though. She knew that mothers didn't take kindly to strangers around their babies... well except for her mother who handed her to a stranger, but at least it was to keep her alive.

She quickly followed after Sidney, not willing to stick around longer.

Tokara heard the screech and he held his sword up ready to strike. but when the animal came out he saw it was a baby horse killer. Taking no time he booked it as fast he could. “shit I don’t like them damn things when they are young or full grown.” He the way it reacted and almost attacked Sidney but he then noticed it start eating the corpses. “good thing it eating that meat and not fresh meat.” Tokara for a big guy he was moving. “I seen what them things do to horses… and they are protective of there young. Everyone I think it’s time to pick up the pace.” Tokara was jogging Justas fast as he could to pt distance between him and the horse killer cub.

((Roll was a 5 which is bad event, bad event roll was 19 which is the second worst roll you can get. It is not a guaranteed boss, but it is guaranteed to be strong. Post is Initial NPC, Tokara, Sidney, Avril, Falabella, NPC.))

Suddenly a screeching can be heard followed by a repeated clicking sound that starts to sound more like clucking. Suddenly a large scaled bird comes into view. In all probability it was probably hunting the young Horse Killer but it hesitates and cocks its head looking at Tokara and the rest of the group. The creature is a Kye-Ryong and stands from foot to head at 14 feet.

It sounds lets out something similar to a Rooster's crow but it is screeching as it does so and then it starts charging towards Tokara at a fast speed with its head low to the ground like a goose when they attack. Its beak, neck, chest and feet are scaled with an almost natural steel and its back is scaled. Upon inspection the sides appear to be feathered and not scaled. The Kye-Ryong is not in range yet as it had at first appeared a ways away.

Tokara let out a grunt, and saw a rock on the ground. picking it up he unsheathed his sword and started to bang it. “Someone come up with a plan!” tokara ran be hide a tree enough so he could be seen by the bird, he wanted to get its attention. Not that he didn’t have it already, he just wanted to make sure it stayed focused on him. he threw the rock down as the bird got closer, and he could see the armor this bird had. “this things got armor, its not going to be a walk in the park.” A smile would cross tokaras face, finally a challenge.

Sidney for a second panics but regains his composure. He quickly analyzes it and sees the metal scales on the front and legs, the scaling on the back and the feathers on the side. The wings didn't look proper for flying either. He wonders about the metallic looking front. He runs closer to it and is pretty much beside Tokara, but not right beside him.

It looked to be agile and maybe Sidney could take its attention away from Tokara. While Tokara could take the most damage, if given the opportunity he could obviously deal the most as well. Knowing this Sidney decides to get it after him the best way he knew how. Sidney decides to try an old skill of his. He stretches his hand out and electricity forms into a ball in his hand which he fires towards the charging Kye-Ryong's metallic chest.

As he fires it Sidney yells to Falabella. "Save shriek until you find a perfect time to use it. We need to have Tokara hit it in the side, it looks like it might be the easiest weak point to hit."

Tactician

Avril freaks out when she sees the Kye-Ryong come out. She quickly draws her bow and without thinking fires. She is probably not close enough to hit her quarry. She then panics even more remembering what is behind them. While the Kye-Ryong was huge its body looked less weapon-like so she started running closer to the Kye-Ryong. She looks at it as she gets closer and she feels better. How strong could a stupid scaled chicken be.

As soon as she heard the noises coming from the forest, she knew her thought from before was going to come true... it was going to be a long day... Suddenly it emerged and started charging Tokara. It was odd looking and it appeared that this was going to be a very difficult fight.

It's back was scaled, but it didn't seem to be with the armor scales that were on it's front. She flew straight up again 20 feet this time. Even though it had wings, they seemed too small for flight. She grabs 4 of her Damaging Needles and readies an attack. Falabella heard what Sidney had said about Shriek. "Just tell me in advance, it takes a little time to charge!"

The Kye-Ryong's attention is fully on Tokara as he gets its attention with the rock and sword. Because of this the Kye-Ryong does not pay attention to Sidney's electric attack. The attack hits as the ball of lightning arcs to the monsters' metal. As the electricity spreads over the creatures metal plating it suddenly freezes up mid dash and falls down face first stunned, leaving an extremely lucky window of opportunity. Meanwhile Avril's arrow does indeed fall short of the Kye-Ryong.

The baby horse killer stops eating and starts walking towards the fight slowly. Just by body movements it is obvious to most that it is not being aggressive.
