Time for some Scouting (Cont.)

Finally, the day had been reached. She checked her map every now and again as she felt she grew closer to the designation, more or so excited about what was going on. She needed to do this for herself. Not just for her father or her mother. Saori felt she needed to do this to protect her very way of life.

She went through a final mountain pass, only to be surprised by the sight of the inn she was supposed to be at. Unsure of if she was even early or late in accordance with a due arrival time, if there ever was one, she'd tread forward, her footpads making light patting noises as she approached the door of the hotel, pushing it open with a rebellious force, walking in and looking around for her contact.

Inside the inn there is an old man with a grizzled beard who looks like he's been around. He walks up to Saori. "So, where are you coming here from? Got a mission of some sort?" In all probability this was the informant that Saori had to meet with. After all, neither knew what the other looked like so it wouldn't e an instant conversation about the mission details. It appears that the only people in the inn are the innkeeper and the man talking to Saori.

Saori would have been approached by an old man, his beard ragged and unkempt. As her eyes scanned the room prior to the elders unveiling, she would have seen that.. Well.. No one was here. At all. This inn was more like a ghost building than a bustling brothel with whores and alcoholics galore, shoveling mead down their throats in anticipation. Idiocy at its best, surely. But this was a whole different scenario.

He had asked where she came from and if she was on a mission. This signaled to Saori that this could very well have been the informant she was made to contact once her arrival had been met. Its not every day someone walks up to you and just asks if your blatantly on a mission. Saori would nod at the old man. "I'm from Mendefara, and yes.. The mission you speak of is the very one I have taken under my wing." Saori often spoke in riddles to confuse people of lesser intelligence. Most of the time it worked.

The old man nods, "Aye. It's your choice, we can make out for the pass now, or you can stay the night in the inn free of charge. I'm prepared for either choice. Be warned though, the pass is not an easy travel and due to how narrow it is we may run into an ambush or two. Don't worry too much though. I may be an old-timer but I can still hold my own in a fight." at this comment he pulls his coat back to reveal that he is carrying dual daggers.

Saori would look at the old man and smile, scanning his daggers. She'd flash her own in response. "Crude Iron." She'd note. Her eyes went up and down the old man. His face showed signs of severe aging, though it seemed his body was immaculate in physical performance. She was sure he probably had double the fighting skill and talents that she had herself.

She'd prepare herself, Dark Magic channeling through her veins and sending a slight wave of energy throughout the inn that gently stifled glass mugs, making them vibrate momentarily. Saori would flash a smile at the man. ".. To Blood Bay." She would tighten her teeth, gritting them. "We can handle whats out here." With that, she pushed the door open, daggers blazing and magic ready to launch at a moments notice.

The grizzled old man follows Saori out the door and they almost immediately hear a loud roar. The old man frowns and motions to Saori to follows him. He starts moving slow and stealthily along the edge of the bushes. In the early dawn light one can make out a large figure in the distance.

The creature was a Fomorian. It was odd to see done from the mountains and they were a dangerous foe. Standing around 12 feet tall the true issue with this creature was its speed and strength. For something of it's size it's speed would be deceptively fast if it were in pursuit of something. On top of this they have some earthen magic.

The old man looks to Saori and whispers to her. "Their vision in light like this is pretty poor, if we stay quiet we should be able to stay out of its view. We can not beat it with just the two of us."

Saori, upon opening the door would have heard an outrageous roar from a powerful creature. Just the voice empathy of anger was enough to seemingly cause the earth beneath the old man and elf quake and tremble. This was certainly a creature she couldn't overcome, even with the mans skills. The figure of his body could be seen in the distance, though, thankfully, it was still very dark outside. The sun had not yet risen.

Saori followed the orders enlisted upon her by the old man, as he clearly knew what he was talking about. Nodding, she took stealthy matters into her own hands and activated a Dark Magic spell, utilising the shadows that the two were now in. She touched his shoulder, which would effectively envelop his body as well. Darkness consumed the appearance of them both, hiding them from sight, especially due to the poor vision of the beast before them. If they were hard to spot before, its almost impossible now. The only thing that could have given them away would be noise, though, with the attire the two wore, that was a slim perspective on its own.

Quietly moving alongside the house, followed by the trail of bushes, she would whisper back to him, as she could see anything inside of the shadows she generated. "This spell will effectively hide us, but I can't keep it up for long. Lets get out of here before we're torn apart by that behemoth." Noting the impressive size of the beast, her tactician skills came into play when she scanned his body mass. Although he was seemingly built for brute strength and overwhelming physical power, his legs were toned in such a manner that would most likely grant him immense bursts of speed when charging. This was an unfortunate turn of events.

Continuing onward, about twenty seconds had gone by, and the beast was still a long enough distance away from the two and they would probably bypass the creature altogether. It was times like this Saori regrets her arrogance. Being an Elf had its ups and downs, but hardcore arrogance is what prompted her to say that they could handle anything out here. This was a fact proven all too wrong to the girl. Just as they reached the outside of the crevice which Moon Shadow Inn resides in, she waited for the grizzled veteran to give further orders in par for escaping this situation alive.
