Aimless in the Streets

Avril was wandering aimlessly through the streets, trying to figure out how to get money and gear again. Last time she went out she was utterly defeated and had all of her belongings stolen except for the clothes on her back. Though it was depressing she was determined to work through it and head out again with different results this time. Suddenly Avril sees a guard walking up to her. Avril is a little concerned because she had been heavily harrasing the guards to let her join them and had been denied repeatedly because of her apparent lack of experience, or so they said.

The city guard walked up to Avril, there was a notice in his hands. As he stopped in front of the newly released he began to read it. “Milady, due to the lack of able bodied guard, we are here by recruiting every able body being to take up arms against the masses of monster stirred up by recent events. This order was given by the peacekeepers.” The guard then lowered the notice so he could look at Avril. Reaching in to a pouch he pulled out an odd looking token, handing it towards Avril. “This token will get you some basic armor and weapons from the armory down the road, as well as some gold coin given for enlisting in to the recruitment army. If you have any questions please ask the barrack captain. He will have more details any questions you may have.” The guard then continued past Avril looking for more people to spread the word to.

Avril takes the token and keeps hold of it. She watches as the guard continues on his way down the street. "This is great!", says Avril excitedly, "I might be able to become a guard after all even though they had declined me before." She walks down the street looking for the barracks with no clue where they were because the guard had just pointed down the road. Avril ends up asking a person on the street where the barracks are in specific. They tell her detailed instructions on exactly how to get there. She follows the instructions and after a while comes to the barracks.
