Glaidus' Workshop (Open for future use)

Tokara would ride in to the blacksmiths. A puppy whaling and tokaras sword still at his side he climbs off soot and ties her rains to a post out side in front of a troth of water. Tokara has the saddle bag over his back full of ore as he the dropped the bag to take care of crackers whaling as he fines a wooden bowl and fills it with water and set crackers next to soot and the water bowl down. “now soot you watch him.” soot looked at tokara then at the puppy and snorted And ignored his orders and went to drink in the troth, crackers just sat there drinking from the wooden bowl.

Tokara then stopped and wiped his head. “whew I need to get me some dried meat for him. But first... lets see the ore in here.” he had his back turned his swords still in plain sight. He started to paw though the bag there was a lot of or in here he could use.

Tokara had finished rooting thought the bag and has sorted out the ore. There was 101lb Coal, that would come in handy in making steel when he knew the way.  46lbs of Iron, 4lb Silver, 6lb Gold, 3lb Natural Steel many of these  was going to take some practice with. He put them back in to the saddle bag rubbed crackers head and patted soots  neck as he begins to walk in to the shop.


Walking in to the shop he worked his way to the refinery part he was going to make some of the iron in to ingots. He took 20 pounds out and dropped it in to the vat to start melting the iron down.
26 iron left in the bag. Tokara would watch the metal and  take any impurity's out with a scoop.

Glaidus is working on the armor that Tokara had asked for when he came in. It was now for the first time that Glaidus noticed Tokara's sword. Good Lord, first that man Sidney comes in with Iridium, then that friend of yer sister's comes in with a Golden Star Sapphire and then ya come in with that there sword. Glaidus was amazed at all that had come through the doors lately. He knew of Tokara's sword but wouldn't bring much more up about it for now.

Tokara hears glaidus comments about his sword and about Sidney, and that girl he met in the mine. He started to pour the iron in to 10 pound ingots, the 2 hot ingots where going need to cool. “huh sidney sold the meteor pieces here?? those where found in the crater my sword left.” tokara would move the iron bars to an anvil to get ready to forge with them. The iron bars where long and would need allot of work done to them. “Glaidus you mind teaching me some blacksmithing.?”

(I don't know why you aren't RPing as Glaidus if you're going to ask about something doing with Blacksmithing since you know for a fact that you know much more than I do about it.)

Glaidus doesn't ask what Tokara means about the crater but he does respond to the question about learning about blacksmithing. If ya want ta learn about smithing than watch me as I finish up yer armor here. He says as he wants to get the armor done.

Tokara would walk over to the dwarfs workspace and watch him work. This master smith was pounding out the armor quickly like this was just another simple day. Seeing his technique tokara though he might learn some thing. An low and behold he was.


Seeing this make the armor for him, he noticed Glaidus was glancing at him from time to time and measuring him up. The smith was able to compare tokaras size and hammering the armor out. The way he was making the armor was to make it custom fit tokara. “you been doing this along time. I can see your making it in my size.” he put a hand on his chin and watched the master work.



“when you get as old as I am you learn a few tricks when working with armor. Actually when your skilled in blacksmithing you should come back here. I got a trick to show you.” glaidus smiles and hammers the finishing touches tokara learn some minor details about blacksmithing enough to get him sparked in to doing more him self.

Tokara would look at the dwarf with a shifty smirk. “when i am better eh??” he said then he lead him self to dream land. He picture him learning a skill from this skilled dwarf. Then he remembered some thing. He needs to actually get black smithing to do any thing. After that thought tokara hurried back to his two large ingots. He then looked at them and decided he needed to use all his iron, he poured the last 26 pounds of it in to the vat and waited for it to be turned in to two more 10 pound bars and two 3 pound bars. he watched the vat and cleaned the top of any impurity's.

Tokara took his time while he waited for the metal to cool he then  went out and took care of soot and crackers. He took some rope from his pouch and cut on his sword and ties a collar around crackers and tied the rope up near soots raines. Tokara then went back in to the blacksmiths and begun work on turning the first two ingots of iron in to some thing.  He begins to pound one ingot out, slowly turning it in to a blade.

Over the corse tokara soon remebered the sword sidney had made for him, made from scrap tokara wanted thise swords to be much better. It wasnt sidneys crafting it was the material he used. Pounding out the metal he in the middle of the prosess welded the other 10 pound bar to it. This made it one large 20 pound iron thing. It had much ork to do on it. He stuck it back in to the heat.

While it heated up tokara worked on the molten metal and poured the 26 pounds of iron all out in to one large large ingot. After doing this he went back to work on the other metal.

Tokara worked the 20 pound lump of iron. It was not easy as it had first seemed. Working it back to tether he then begun enlogating it so it was mostly a blade shap but no real form to it. The 26 pound ingot wasstill cooling off tokara was wondering what to make with it. At first while he worked his metal he though maybe a bigger sword but then he though about it. “i need a hammer.” he looked at it and smiled. “an a hammer it shall be.” he said as he then continued working the sword.

Working on the sword tokara began to think of some thing wielding one two hander sword was good but what if he wielded TWO! Now that was some cleaver thinking, not really who know how cumbersome that would truly be. But tokara smiled with this in his mind as a plan. But would he wield two swords?? or just a sword and a hammer, Or two hammers yeah that would be great. His mind was racing with idea as he began to work faster on this sword. “hahaha i have the perfect plan.” he would say, soot for how little she known him just shakes her head whining.   stamina .5

Hammering out the final touches on the sword tokara looked at it it wasn't bad but it wasn't perfect could use a good polish to make it look better. Tokara would finish up the blade while it was still hot. The sword was long and broad  the guard was rather small for such a sword but then again most of these swords arnt known for there  blocking power.

Crackers was out side on his leash barking and soot stomped her front hove and whiny-ed at him to shut him up. Crackers acted quickly and hide behind the post. “i will be out soon. I need to finish this up.” he said as he began to walk over to a grinding wheel.

Tokara would go to the grinding heel and slowly grind the blade down to a sharp edge. This sword was forged some what good but because it was iron who knows how long it would last in a fight. Tokara took the time to sharpen the sword on both sides. Soot laid down and her ears twitched crackers crulled up right at her chest and it was easy to see she followed just for crackers.

Tokara would put the sword to the side and walk over to his ingot of 26 pounds he looked at it, if hes going to turn this in to a maul he need a proper handle. But unfortunatly he had no sutibale wood so he will need to make one from metal. He begins by heating up the ingot and begin to make it in to a more uniform shape square. He leaves the ingot in the heat to fully heat up while he goes around looking for a stick or some more iron. All he finds is a 9 pound iron rod. He hopes gladius would alow him, but just in case he takes 1000 gold out and places on a stool for glaidus.

Tokara would stick the 5 foot rod in to the fires to start warming the rod up it was about an inch thick.

Tokara worked the rod to make it really work able, this rod would be the handle for tokara new maul granted it would be shorter then a sword but the weight would be so much more. The sword he had finished the legnth was large but it needed to be he seen the creatures he would face, if horse killers where loose he needed the best weaponry he could make then again that dragon he saw. The thing gave him slight doubts of every winning. He would shake away and doubt he had and pounded away at the hot iron his hammer was coming along slowly.

The ring of iron hitting an anvil made soot's ears lean back as she could hear tokara work away, crackers was making a little puppy mess outside the door where he was whining out for food. Tokara could hear his dog but he was wondering if keeping crackers was worth it. All his last peas have died, a cat froze to death, a horse froze to death now he has another horse and it might die. But tokara then wondered did soot have horse shoes on? He knew back at home that if his father didn't replace his shoes often his hooves would split badly. Tokara was still working on his hammer doing up the finishing touches.

Tokara would be on the finishing touches on the hammers head, one end was rounded some what to make it look like a ball the other head was flat and square. This maul was beginning to look like a quarry maul. The handle was placed in to the end but it want finished off. He would inspect the work and hope it would work breaking bones well. While is inspected his work before finishing the touches crackers was wrapping himself around a pole. The silly puppy had never been on a leash before.

Finally tokara had put the finishing touches on his maul. A few pounds on to the handle and the head would never come off. Of corse he would most likely need to repair it soon as the handle might bend or break who knows with how he works with his stuff. He placed the maul near his sword he made and left them for now. He had nee working so long he forgotten about getting crackers food, he left the sack of other ores in the shop. He ran out and found crackers, he untied the puppy and looked at him. “sorry little one i get you some food now.” tokara would say heading for the town square as he untied soots raines and held on to them.

Tokara was riding on the back of soot back to the shop. Crackers was sleeping in his bottoms bag, tokara was drinking from the keg he had just bought from the in. It was just a small one, the brew in it was more like water then real mead, making tokara thinking it was watered down. He got down off his horse and lead her by the riens to a post and tied her up. He chugging down the rest of the baby keg of beer he placed it in to his bottoms bag, it might come in handy latter on as a water keg. The keg holds about 1 1/5 gallons. He had to move crackers a little to put it in. But you would only see the puppy's mouth move a little as it licks its chops his eyes staying shut.


Tokara would walk over to the two weapons he made not to long ago and picked one up in each hand the maul in his left hand and the sword in his right. He found a open clearing out back of the shop and begins to practice swinging both weapons. The awquard weight throwing him around but the sword and maul where not some thing he was use to wielding at the same time. The sound of irons kicking up dust could be herd in back of the shop as tokara was practicing wielding two weapons.

Tokara would swing them a few times and then stop. The hand that held the maul was tingling with pain from the recoil of the hammer hitting the ground. Dropping it with a metallic sound he looked to his hand shaking it off. He sat down on the ground and crackers would still sleep though all of this. Soot had his sword on her, so he had no comparison for another weapons. But none the less this new blacksmith knew he was forgetting some thing. He looked to his maul and noticed the bare handle, while practicing with it he did notice it liked to slip from his hand. Thinking really hard which was a rarity for tokara he remembered. “AHAH! I need to make a proper grip on my handle. An maybe turning one side in to a tapor might give me some atvantage.”

he then looked to his sword he though maybe reinforcing it and giving it a bit of a serrated edge would make it more brutal on large monsters, even people for that matter. He when back in to the shop and placed his two weapons down near a open forge. Walking out he left soot all tied up. “i be back girl.” he patted soot on the flank and soot turned to him and snorted as he turned away from her ride.
Tokara was heading to the nearest tailors to get some leather.

Koreseta enters Glaidus' shop and heads straight to the forge that he had allowed her to use before. She sets about smelting the iron that she has. She then goes over and looks for a good arrowhead mold. Upon finding it she brings it back over to the forge. When she gets back to the forge she starts organizing some of the sticks, getting ready to craft them and whittle them down into arrow shafts that are decent.

Glaidus had been resting in the back of the shop when he comes in and sees Koroseta.  Immediately he notices her armor and is fascinated by the worksmanship.  "Well I'll be, where'd you get that armor lass?  I'd love to get a good look at it.  Actually, I'd love to try and make a copy of that.  Would you mind if I did?  Of course I'd find some way to make it up to ya for letting me copy yer armor. Oh and if ye'll be whittling just put the shavings in the empty forge next to the one yer working at."

As Koroseta hears Glaidus talk about wanting to replicate her armor she starts to whittle the arrow shafts and pretty quickly has 10 done as she is skilled with a knife. She thinks on what Glaidus had said. Tell ya what Glaidus. If you can give me an answer to my question and help me out, I'll let you try to replicate my armor. You see. I know how to mine, I'm decent with leather and I love smithing. Honestly I'm trying to figure out a place to set up shop and become a blacksmith myself. Do you know where I could do that? By the time she is finished speaking Koroseta now has 20 whittled shafts. (Fast I know, but considering the total amount of work that would go into everything I'm trying to save a bit of time.)

Glaidus thinks for a moment and is quick to respond with an answer. "I'll tell ya what, I think we could come out to an arrangement. In my age now I only take requests, I don't have any ready made weapons. If you wanted to, you could set up here and I'd take a 20% commision on your sales? It's actually a pretty fair offer." Glaidus says. "Besides, seeing that spear you made I'd be interested in seeing what else you'd come up with. What do you say?"

Koroseta nods with a smile. That sounds wonderful, thank you! She then takes off the armor and Glaidus would likely notice the leather strips unbinding themselves. It must have some kind of enchantment on it.

Koroseta then goes back to carving arrow shafts after checking the progress of the iron for a second. She puts quite a bit of effort into the carving and now has 50 total done. She gets up and pours the metal into the large arrowhead mold which probably only has room for twenty arrowheads. She sets it aside to cool.
