Job Done With A New Recruit

Kai walks into the Barracks and is again relieved to stand upright after going through the doorway. Seeing a guard standing there, he asks him politely to fetch Captain Robison for him. He takes out the decreee that had been given to him, prepairing to return it to the Guard Captain when he arrives.

"Miss Lena, when the Captain arrives, give him your token and he will see you get outfitted with gear and coin. You can pick three items from weapons and armor." He turns around, looking at the woman he brought with him, the one he had recruited.

Lena eyed everything in her surroundings upon entering the barracks. The looked at the guard then back to her new minotaur friend "Sure, whatever you say, Kai." she replies, flashing him a smile.
She began to pace, imagining herself wearing top of the line gear and holding a shiny new staff in her hands. Best part, they had her favorite combination of color: pink and pearly white. She remembered her Elemental book back home. All she could think about is getting on the right path to becoming a powerful water mage.

((Uh oh, lol. Robison and Lena are like polar opposites, this ought to be... bad. LOL))

Captain Robison comes out, as fat, slobbish, and lazy as ever. It appears as though he had just woken up, likely because he had. He hardly acknowledges Kai and Lena at first as he picks up two pouches of gold. Without a word he throws a lighter one containing 250 coins at Kai, and a heavier one with 1000 coins at Lena. Fortunately he had not thrown them as hard as he could have and had thrown them rather lightly.

He then looks and speaks to Lena. "What type of weapon are you good with? What type of armor would you like?" He asks this to see what he should outfit Lena with.

A frown appears upon Lenas face at the sight of the obese man. "How does somebody get so fat!? A little work out wouldn't kill anyone..." she mumbles to herself. She catches the unexpectedly thrown pouch nearly dropping it from surprise, then approaches the eyesore of a man.

Lena flashes a fake grin at the Captain "The prettiest stave, robe, and shoes you have, please." she says.

Robison laughed a little. "Won't find much pretty around here I'm afraid. The gear we have to give out is a bit.... worn." He hands her musty mage robes, and a cracked staff. "This is all we have to give out of what you had asked for. It is not much, but this whole decree wasn't our idea in the first place."

((Side note, the musty robes and cracked staff are equipment under the creation section and are basic equipment. If you go into the weapons and equipment sections of creation you should find them under basic gear.))

Not surprised by the Captains rude behavior, Kai caught the bag of gold *He is who he is, at least he didn't hear what Lena mumbled under her breath* He stayed with Lena, making sure she wouldn't get in trouble... he was the one who brought her here. Her list of choices didn't surprise him either, too bad they didn't have shoes here. An idea poped in his head though.

"Lena, why not take the Wornout Leather Chaps to a Cobbler. They may be able to make shoes or boots for you."

"EWW!" Lena exclaims with repulsion in her tone. She pinches her nose. "What is that smell?!" She gives her new robe a small whiff. A scowl appears on her face "You could of handed them to me clean at the very least, 'captain'! Don't even get me started on how horrid they look. " she states and unwillingly takes one object in each hand.

Upon hearing Kai, her face lights up as if she had a sudden epiphany. She turns to him and nods frantically "Yes! A glimmer of hope! Excellent idea! Maybe a Cobbler can help me de-uglify these disgusting things." Lena replies to her friend, optimism in her voice. She tossed the musty mage robe over her shoulder and lifted the awful leather chaps then placed them over her forearm.

"Catch you later, oaf. Off the the Cobbler's with Kai!" she said, waving bye to the Captain and giving him a wink.

Listening to Lena's words, Kai became slightly tense while he rolled his eyes at the same time. He looked at Captain Robison, and looked back at Lena, who was already leaving the building. The captain seemed too shock to move at first, and she was already gone, it appeared to be safe.

"Thank you" Kai bowed to the Captain and the guards around him and made his way out the door before the Captain could retaliate against him instead of Lena.

*At least I got my gold for the quest*

Even with the insults Robison laughs as they leave. He then pulls out a perfectly clean pink robe with pearly white accents. "Another piece of good gear for me to sell. This never gets old!" Robison takes it to a back room where he has stashed his 'acquisitions'.
